SIMKAB manufactures wire harnesses and cable assemblies designed to comply with the EU RoHS Directive and the REACH Regulation.
RoHS – Directive 2011/65/EU
The wire harnesses and cable assemblies we manufacture are built from materials and components that comply with the substance restrictions of the RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU, including Delegated Directive (EU) 2015/863). This covers lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB, PBDE, DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP, within the maximum concentration values defined by the Directive.
REACH – Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006
Our products are manufactured so that they do not contain substances of very high concern (SVHC) on the ECHA Candidate List above 0.1% by weight (w/w) per article. We follow Candidate List updates and re-evaluate our materials when the list changes.
How we maintain compliance
- We source cables, connectors, terminals, sleeves and other components from suppliers who provide RoHS and REACH declarations for the parts they supply.
- Supplier declarations and related certificates are kept on file and checked for validity.
- Components without a valid declaration are not used in products that carry a RoHS/REACH compliance commitment.
- Where a customer requires halogen-free, low-smoke or other material restrictions, these are specified per project and verified against the bill of materials.
